If social situations make you feel like a deer in headlights 🦌, let’s flip the script.

Imagine if you could rehearse those awkward moments beforehand, turning your “umms” and “uhhs” into confident comebacks.

Guess what? You can!

Role-playing is like a secret weapon for social anxiety.

It’s practice—but fun.

Grab a friend, sibling, or even your dog (dogs are great listeners), and act out tricky scenarios.

Start small:

  1. Practice introducing yourself without your voice cracking.
  2. Rehearse asking a classmate for help with homework without sounding like it’s a life-or-death situation.
  3. Work on small talk: “What’s your go-to pizza topping?” is way easier than “What’s your stance on the meaning of life?”

Role-playing helps you anticipate challenges, build confidence, and maybe even have a few laughs along the way. (Doggies, unfortunately, can’t offer constructive feedback, but they’ll still wag their tails in support.)
